Have you ever left hair salon regretting going there in the first place?
Have you ever dreamed of long thick hair?
Well, you are not alone... I have personally been in this boat and struggled for years…
Hair extensions have, literally, changed my life.
Today I want to share with you some tips on how to choose the best hair extensions.
Hair extensions are a quick solution to adding length and volume, which you may have never been able to achieve solely through growing your hair.
But before investing in any extensions, it’s important to take into consideration different factors, such as your lifestyle and hair texture.
There are several extensions to choose from, and this can be daunting for first time users.
When choosing the hair extensions, you should check whether it is made from natural human hair or synthetic. Not only will human hair last longer, it will look like your real hair and can be treated like one. With synthetic hair, you cannot use any heat (such as blow-dryer or irons) or swim with your extensions in.
Choosing the wrong hair colour is a very common mistake made. Most hair extension producers offer a wide range of colours that make it easier for us to find the right shade. It also allows low-lights and highlights to add depth and tone without any additional treatments.
If you are looking to have semi-permanent extensions
applied, you want to make sure to go to a certified hair extension stylist. If you receive an incorrect application, you may experience slipping or other issues that will cause more inconvenience to your daily life.
Strand by strand hair extensions - extensions with a glue bond are attached to small pieces of your own hair using warm or cold application techniques.
Strands of about 20 to 30 individual hairs can be attached with either a glue application point or a micro link.
Weft hair extensions - a weft of hair about 2-4 inches wide is applied to the hair in rows, rather than in individual strands. Wefts can be applied using tape-in, glue-in, or sew-in/braided method.
Micro-link skin weft - hair is pulled through silicone lined micro-link skin wefts and clamped shut with a closing tool.
Clip-in hair extensions - wefts of hair are applied using small pressure sensitive clips.
Clip-in hair extensions is a great option for those who are not ready to commit to wearing extensions full-time.
