Ever wanted shiny, tangle-free, healthy hair like the models in all those hair commercials on tv?
Trust me, it’s not as difficult as it seems. I’d like to share with you my dos and don’ts for strong, gorgeous hair.
Say “No” to super- hot shower.
Hot water and sauna steam feel good on your skin, but they may harm your hair leaving it dry and dull. I recommend using lukewarm water to wash your hair and adjusting it to even colder to rinse. That will make your hair cuticles lay flat and reflect more light.
Invest in a good brush.
Use professional brands that specialize in hair products and tools. Ask your hairdresser to recommend you one, or simply check what they use in hair salons and order the same for yourself. A good boar bristle brush distributes oil from the scalp down the strands, creating that fabulous gloss.
Moisturize your hair.
How does your skin look when you don’t moisturize it? Right, dry and flaky… Hydration is the key to radiant skin that glows from within. Same with your hair… So don’t skip a good conditioning, moisturizing mask once or twice a week. Don’t rush it, leave the mask on for the recommended 5-10 minutes and rinse it off with tepid or cold water. Create this time for yourself and your hair!
Maintain a good diet.
Okay, I’m not a health nut and not really into fitness, but I do know that beauty starts on the inside.
Make sure you take Omega-3 supplements or get enough of it from healthy fats. Add more avocados, nuts, olive and coconut oils to your diet if you want healthy hair that shines and grows fast.
Do not leave hair-styling products in for too long.
We all know we should always remove makeup before going to bed, and we do. Well, most of the time… of course, there have been situations in every girl’s life when you’d just forgotten about it. Doesn’t feel that good the next day, does it? Again, hair is no different. Wash off all the hair spray, mousse and hair gel you’ve used to create that sleek ponytail or those gorgeous beach waves. Use deep-cleansing shampoo once in a while to remove all the residue and buildup in your hair. It will also nourish your hair and give it shine.
